Botswana’s November 2022 Food Imports Valued at over P6.9m
Botswana’s total imports were valued at P 6, 974, 309,977.1 during the month of November 2022. In this amount, food imports contributed P 1, 131, 678, 737.5, representing 16.2 percent.
Beverages, Spirits & Vinegar accounted for 16.8 percent of food imports. Cereals and Animal or vegetable fats, oils & their cleavage products; prepared fats; waxes followed with 15.1 percent and 9.3 percent respectively. Among Beverages, Spirits & Vinegar, the most imported commodity was Other Beer made from malt, with an alcohol content of 5 per cent or less, accounting for 15.1 percent.

Other nonalcoholic beverages, not including fruit or vegetable juices followed with a contribution of 14.9 percent, while Other fermented beverages or non-malted cereal grains, unfortified, with an alcoholic strength of at least 2.5 < 9.0 per cent by volume With an alcohol content of 5 per cent or less made a contribution of 10.3 percent (Table 2a).

Dried Maize (Corn) kernels or grains fit for human consumption, not further prepared or processed & not packaged as seeds (excluding popcorn (ZEA MAYS EVERTA)) accounted for 35.4 percent each to the cereal chapter.
